Hypothetical, if I may.

Say someone you knew growing up just came back home for whatever reason-- y'all still talk, so it's not like you're estranged or anything, just a lot of time has passed.

How pissed would you be if they didn't get you anything for Christmas?

How much more pissed would you be if you used to be married to them?

You're not seriously thinking of not getting your ex-wife something for Christmas, are you?

She might hypothetically kill you.

[identity profile] autophoenix.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Depends on the present. And what you did to her new husband.

[identity profile] autophoenix.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
Really. Because right now I'm thinking one of you is a psycho murderer of some kind.

Well, Mr. Marshal, if you call me ma'am again, I'll become a psycho murderer of some kind. That's just a warning, too. My name is Claire.

So, what were you warning him for?

Someone you know but haven't pointed a gun at, I hope.

More personal than potential gifts for your ex-wife? I'm not really going to be much help if I don't know what's going on, you know.

If they owe you something, you owe them something. The real goal is to get something better from them than you got for them and worth more than what all they spent on you. But it's gotta be close enough they can't really complain unless yer close, and if yer hypothetically close, this kinda problem wouldn't hypothetically exist.

In that case, hand 'em a card with cash and call it a holiday.

They can suck it up and deal with it? If they wanted a gift so much, they shouldn't have divorced you.

[identity profile] breakhisknees.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'm getting that a lot lately.

You gotta get her a present.
