[River is sitting at a low table and she has... a book open in front of her. she's writing notes in the pages of this book and occasionally ripping pages out of it. at one point, a man - a priest, if you look at his clothing - approaches her as if to take it, and River doesn't even look up.]

Just keep walking, Preacher-man. [she goes back to writing, and lifts up the book to find a page oh wait River is destroying the Bible okay then. she keeps writing for a while and then speaks up suddenly; she is... talking to an empty room.]

They shouldn't print false information in books. It's misleading. Leads us to ruin. This book is all fiction. [there goes another page.] There's no rhyme or reason. The people of the time were highly illogical. Or they had bad hearing and they misinterpreted all the words. A God shouldn't disobey his own laws, it's bad practice. Even if he's very fond of folding space. There are too many undesirable factors in this story. Unlikeable characters. It needs to be rewritten entirely. Too many mistakes. It's rude to eavesdrop on a conversation, so you'll have to contribute.

[she looks up.] What does the community think of this crime?

[La la la what is a bible] If it's fiction, you should just enjoy the story! Unless it's a bad story.

...Ah, what crime?

A fictional book about a god? Where the god is a hypocrite, the followers are hypocrites, and the transcription is spotty?

Burn it. Make ink from the ashes and write it even better.

[personal profile] createswithink 2011-11-02 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
You gonna rewrite it now?

[personal profile] createswithink 2011-11-02 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
What if the author wanted it to be confusing and incorrect? [/obviously confused]

[identity profile] sandinmyboots.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
You'll have to get everyone to read your new version, then. Getting rid of all the old versions will be tricky, but doable. Maybe you need to recruit some...uh, priests? Those guys. Yes.

What would you make a god like instead?

[identity profile] makewayforroze.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
They lied about the religion?

[personal profile] createswithink 2011-11-02 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah...to make people question things and to find the real truth behind it?

[identity profile] loyalbound.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[ oh wow not sure how feel about this because on the one hand the bible gets more wrong than it does right so this is as close to thinking something is hilarious as castiel can come to but on the other hand... she is kind of ripping up the bible...... ]

I believe this is what's known as deja vu. Although you hadn't gone as far as ripping it up last time we had this conversation.

I've seen worse religious books. 'Course, I've also seen better, so there's that.

[identity profile] makewayforroze.livejournal.com 2011-11-03 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
How do you know which part is lying? A few lies doesn't make an entire religion false.

[personal profile] createswithink 2011-11-03 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Not every thing recorded in history is true anyways. If it's fictional I'd just call it a myth.

[identity profile] loyalbound.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Some of them aren't that bad. They're just... misguided.

Most records of pretty much anything are, to be honest. It's mostly a matter of measuring everything on a sliding scale of just how inaccurate they are.

Humans are always illogical microorganisms, the fact that they even wrote down a history at all surprises me.

And here you are, an amoeba judging other bacteria of the past. Hoh- truly interesting.

The crime of false information, or the crime of tearing books apart?

[identity profile] loyalbound.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
As I've never met Michael, I couldn't say. Dean would probably agree with you though.

[ And have some more choice words to say about the archangel as well, most likely. ]

[identity profile] loyalbound.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. From what I understand, Zachariah in particular has been very active in trying to persuade him to say yes. Not that that's surprising.

Many of us have never had any contact with humanity, or at least nothing significant. There wasn't really much reason for most angels to be included.

Well, I could put it in perspective for you and tell you that on my Earth at least, while there was actually a Noah who had to build a boat to survive a flood, it certainly wasn't world-wide. Earth's got enough water anyway, it'd be a pretty drastic business indeed if it had managed to get any more covered in the stuff back in those days before people started melting ice caps and things. Probably seemed that way to him, though, seeing as how most people's perceptions of the world were smaller back then, and there really was an awful lot of water around as far as he could see. You can't blame the man for thinking so.

Also, aliens were involved, and one of them was me. But that little detail is probably wholly and completely unique to my universe, so I couldn't really say for anyone else's.

A reasonable, but wasted effort. Humans shouldn't be spending their time writing down history, they're barely able to remember how to breathe. The only thing these insects are good for are producing mysteries.

A fish? No- that's almost too generous. How about a flea?

Why would I suggest such a useless thing?!

[Besides, he hadn't even gotten to the part about getting rid of the opposition yet!]

Instead, recruit them to your side.

But alll faith has it's myths. I can understand the problem when people actually believe the myths are true, though.

For example! Lots of people in my world believe that every time a kitsune weds, it's sunny and rainy at the same time. Some even believe that the wedding causes that to happen. But that's not true at all, not even on the 'every time' part. It's actually just that the kitsune couple prefers to get married during sun showers. Still, people will believe what they want to believe, true or not.
