[River is sitting at a low table and she has... a book open in front of her. she's writing notes in the pages of this book and occasionally ripping pages out of it. at one point, a man - a priest, if you look at his clothing - approaches her as if to take it, and River doesn't even look up.]

Just keep walking, Preacher-man. [she goes back to writing, and lifts up the book to find a page oh wait River is destroying the Bible okay then. she keeps writing for a while and then speaks up suddenly; she is... talking to an empty room.]

They shouldn't print false information in books. It's misleading. Leads us to ruin. This book is all fiction. [there goes another page.] There's no rhyme or reason. The people of the time were highly illogical. Or they had bad hearing and they misinterpreted all the words. A God shouldn't disobey his own laws, it's bad practice. Even if he's very fond of folding space. There are too many undesirable factors in this story. Unlikeable characters. It needs to be rewritten entirely. Too many mistakes. It's rude to eavesdrop on a conversation, so you'll have to contribute.

But alll faith has it's myths. I can understand the problem when people actually believe the myths are true, though.

For example! Lots of people in my world believe that every time a kitsune weds, it's sunny and rainy at the same time. Some even believe that the wedding causes that to happen. But that's not true at all, not even on the 'every time' part. It's actually just that the kitsune couple prefers to get married during sun showers. Still, people will believe what they want to believe, true or not.

Reliable. Don't scrap the bad canvas and start again. It's wasteful. There's a lot of water damage left behind in the pages, but it's all left to rot. Less folding space, too. There are the marks of clumsy, fumbling fingers all over Earth-That-Was.

These are all impossibilities. Noah's Ark is a terrible offence. An entire planet couldn't flood in forty days, and water won't remain unchanged on a surface with exposure to sunlight, an absorbent ground and atmosphere for one hundred and ten days. We'd have to assume that one of the variables has changed over time, one that was supposed to be a set control. Earth-That-Was may have been made from a crust that didn't require absorption of water and nutrients.

Or the God was changing the rules to fit his playing, which is a bad trait. Sour apples. We'd have to remove it.

Yes. From what I understand, Zachariah in particular has been very active in trying to persuade him to say yes. Not that that's surprising.

Many of us have never had any contact with humanity, or at least nothing significant. There wasn't really much reason for most angels to be included.

Well, I could put it in perspective for you and tell you that on my Earth at least, while there was actually a Noah who had to build a boat to survive a flood, it certainly wasn't world-wide. Earth's got enough water anyway, it'd be a pretty drastic business indeed if it had managed to get any more covered in the stuff back in those days before people started melting ice caps and things. Probably seemed that way to him, though, seeing as how most people's perceptions of the world were smaller back then, and there really was an awful lot of water around as far as he could see. You can't blame the man for thinking so.

Also, aliens were involved, and one of them was me. But that little detail is probably wholly and completely unique to my universe, so I couldn't really say for anyone else's.
