What are other worlds' views, or your own personal view, on killing those that have already died, that have lost their soul, or that have no soul? Is it considered any different from killing those that are alive or have souls?

...And by 'killing' I do mean terminating their existence.

When I was younger, it was considered highly "wrong". I don't imagine that's changed much over the years on my world.

And could you explain what you mean by losing a soul or having none? Do you mean a person far past redemption, or simply someone who's died but their body continues to live? In the latter case, sometimes it can be for the best. There's no sense in keeping a person's body alive past their death date. It gives their loved ones false hope, and it's simply cruel.

Ah. Well, I imagine it would depend upon the individual in question, then, and the specific circumstances. Sometimes people are considered "soulless" for acting in a way others see as wrong simply because they don't understand the reasoning behind such an act, or care to understand. Or, of course, there are those who can truly be thought of as having no soul. But it's still not right to take their life. That makes you no better than them.

Who's the moron laying down this kind of crap?

I don't think you should go and kill, or terminate souls that have already moved on! Let them find their own peace by themselves! I'm saying this especially since I'm dead, I don't want to disappear!

[identity profile] stapitsenpai.livejournal.com 2011-12-07 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Stubborn, because we have something we're fighting against! Life is unfair, so we're determined not to let go of this chance we have to go and beat the crap out of God!

If they're not doing anything to hurt you or anyone else, then it's none of anyone else's business whether they're around or not.

Dirt can get people sick and is an eyesore. Certain dead people aren't anymore harmful to you or themselves or anyone else, so there's no reason for anyone to give a crap about whether they're alive or not is there?

If they've got wills of their own it's by their own choice that they stay isn't it? Not like we're taking up any extra space, since this world is made specifically for us.

I'm dead by the way, so my opinion counts on this.

I don't see why it should be any different from killing a living person with a soul. I mean, assuming they're self-aware. I've never really heard of something without a soul that was self-aware, but I suppose it's possible. 'Soul' is a slightly more concrete concept on my world than some.

I guess if they already died once, they can probably die a few times over without it bein' a big deal.

It should make no difference at all.

Of course, perhaps my own personal view would not account to much in a question like this, or so would certain people say.

How could you prove the existence or lack of a soul, exactly?

[identity profile] glyph-witch.livejournal.com 2011-12-07 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
In my world, those who are undead are extremely dangerous, as they prey on the living. It's not considered wrong to destroy them, since they have already died.

...

I've had to do it more times than I would have liked.

It's... easier when you know they want to die.

I can't say that I much concern myself with killing any of the above. But those who have been raised from the dead where I am -- even those who were raised without their original souls -- behave exactly as the living do.
