What do you do if, your whole life you've believed this one thing and then one day... you find out it was all a lie? That person you've always been super proud of actually wasn't so great?

Right. So, my dad was in the army, and I always believed he died fighting in Iraq, but my mom just told me that, actually...he'd come home. Back to the States, back to Ohio even. But he was different somehow, and he-- he ended up dying of a drug overdose.

Then you're probably feeling betrayed by both of them, aren't you?

If by fighting you mean a war...I've seen what war does to people. He must have been very brave to go to fight at all. Watching people you know and probably care for die isn't easy. Even good people can do some very dumb things.

You're not really just the man you are at your worst moments.
