[This video starts off as - huh. Just an empty room. Nobody living - or rather, existing, in sight.]

[There's a circular screen-like thing on the wall, though, and the positioning of this video gives you a clear view of it. And what it's showing is this, on loop -]

[About 40 seconds through, a certain black and white clothed ghost walks in. He blinks at the screen a bit, then turns around and shouts back through the door.] Clockwork, your portal thing is showing my time again!

[After several moments with no reply, he shrugs, rolls his eyes, and turns back to the "portal thing," jumping into the air to float in a cross-legged position and watch the rest. He's got a satisfied smirk on his face by the time it reaches the end.]

[[This was very much an excuse for the truth-or-dare virus. Go for it.]]

Yes, doesn't it? Stereotypical destroyed planet with one safe haven. Though personally I was always a bit more fond of the stuff outside the ghost shield.

I didn't exactly have a permanent place of residence. I got too bored that way when I tried it out. Though I'd have to say those cockroaches impressed me a hell of a lot more than you lot. At least they managed to survive. Without a fancy forcefield thing, even.

And yet I still took it down. Sure, fine, I'll admit the shield was impressive. Kept me out for a little while. But it failed, didn't it?

Just without the mad scientists. As I understand, it was mostly an accident.

You can't be an artificially made ghost. A ghost comes from someone who was alive. If you were never alive, you can't have died.

You're an experiment, not a ghost.

Nope. Like, I said, it was an accident, not any sort of pre-planned experiment. It'd be a rather poor experiment, dooming everyone.

Besides, a ghost wasn't necessarily ever alive. Ghost is a species. Lots of dead things just tend to get reborn as one. Otherwise Clockwork wouldn't exist. Among others.

Believe what you want, though. Not like I can stop your stupidity.

[She holds out hand out, palm upward, as if lecturing.] Then your definition of ghosts is different from ours. No wonder you're not scary.

And I'm sure you'll go one to tell me that it was because I was "ugly" or something like you did back then once I didn't immediately jump in to attack you. [He shakes his head in mock disappointment.] Oh, at least think of a more original excuse.

Something like that. Clockwork's the one who's all smarty-pants about it, but apparently it can jump you into any past, present place, or a future that can still exist.

Which at the moment, this can't. [He whacks it with his fist.] See? Solid. No way to go through.

It never occurred to you that perhaps worldhops can get you out of there? Or those don't work in your reality?

Sure, I could try worldhopping. Hell, I know how to teleport myself, if I've been somewhere before or have its signature.

Doesn't matter as long as I've got no timeline to be attached to. Otherwise I'd be long gone.

Teleporting would come in handy. [If you were able to use it, that's it.] There must be a way to fix this.

Beyond going back in time to make sure I do exist? Not much. Already tried that, that's when I got kicked out.

I'm thinking of trying a few other things - even if none of them are as neatly tied up as a time loop - but you'll understand if I don't start spewing plans over a public community like a bad movie supervillain.

Being genre savvy sure helps, many villains never understood that. But you can still ask for help around this place, many people here believe themselves gods, wizards and the like.

And what could I ask that wouldn't make it obvious it was me? I'm sure there's very many people around who're locked up because if they aren't they'll stop existing. [Among other reasons like mass murdering but that's not the point]

Some members of this comm aren’t exactly the heroes of their world. Offer them what everyone wants: Money, power..just find something they want and give it to them if they get you out.
