Tell me of this war you fight for, Steve Rogers. It has been 1000 years since I came to Earth willingly, I do not know what has transpired.

Alright... let's see. There was a big war before this one and one place got the blame and had to pay up for it. But they're broke so they end up supporting this guy, Hitler, saying he's not going to make them pay. But he's actually an evil power hungry man and starts getting the place to invade everywhere else and doing some pretty bad stuff. Couldn't get him to stop, other places end up supporting his side and causing more trouble, and we fight to stop it.

In a nutshell. A thousand years is a lot to cover.
