accidental video

{{ooc: Don't watch this at work. It doesn't contain anything explicit or anything, but y'know. It's just one of those things that would look awkward.}}

[ Can't see the video? Here's what happened: Kobato finds out from Kodaka that their air conditioner won't be fixed for another three days but she still refuses to change out of her dress. She sits down to watch her anime, which has a new episode, and the character that looks suspiciously like an older Kobato (though it's really more like Kobato looks like her) releases her "true form" after being attacked. Kobato promptly has her own "transformation sequence" and makes a big deal out of changing into regular clothes that are more fit for summer. ]

Yes, it usually is. Well, I suppose the next time someone points out that evil is inherently self-destructive I have a counterexample.

Probably shouldn't add it to your list, though. "Counterexample" doesn't fit in that well with your name. Counterexample Reysis vi Felicity Sumeragi...

Does the annihilation of never mind. That's much better than "counterexample".

No, no, I was agreeing with you.

... How do you know what the annihilation of church bells sounds like, anyway?

Does that mean you aren't going to tell me?

That's a shame. Some evil overlords keep all the fun to themselves.

Sadly, not being an evil overlord, I have a lot more consequences to worry about for that sort of thing.

I don't know, it always seems to be the consequences that catch out the evil overlords who get defeated. You start burning things and laying waste or conquering and brutally oppressing people, heroes start showing up to stop you.

Television is probably safer, honestly.

They just start sending stronger ones, you know. I'll give you a hint - if you ever cross paths with a girl named Lina Inverse, you may want to run the other way.

I'm not even entirely sure she is mortal anymore. She called up the Lord of Nightmares at one point after botching a spell, and she survived the experience.

"Lord of Nightmares" is a bit of a misnomer. My world had a god and a demon lord that fought for control of it - either one could have crushed most mortals.

The Lord of Nightmares is a step above them. A miscast spell invoking... well, it, has the potential to destroy the world, and Lina not only casts such spells properly on a regular basis, she got one wrong and survived.

[Zel has never actually seen the Lord of Nightmares (or the epilogues of his novels), so he doesn't know he's getting the gender wrong here.]

I was exaggerating. And the Lord of Darkness is about the only thing ever to pose a serious threat to Lina and survive. She's killed [quick calculation here] nine fourteenths of a Dark Lord.
