36; opera stars; who let a dragon in here; not going soft shut up

[Kefka and Kasumi seem to be at a play. A rather fancy play, with singing and fabulous costumes, and it is being held in one fancy opera house - it's got gold, silver, red velvet curtains, the works. Kefka's as incognito as he can get, in pale blue make up and frilly, bright blue clothing; Kasumi sits beside him in a pink kimono.]

[The play is interrupted when a dragon waltzes onstage and starts roaring. (Dragon, T-Rex, same difference.) The actors flee; so does part of the audience. Another part, though, is taking this as part of the show; this includes Kefka, who is still munching on his popcorn like nothing's gone wrong. Kasumi, meanwhile, is leaning away from the stage with wide eyes. She leans over and asks Kefka:]

Are we really not going to do anything about this?

[Kefka shrugs.]
Nah, the dragons can do what they want. They don't listen to me. Besides, it's not like she's hurting anyone.

If you are sure.
[She keeps on staring; the dragon is stomping around onstage now. Kefka adds:]

The elemental dragons are not under my command, anyway. They obey Kaiser Dragon, who is - I don't know where she is. Sleeping or something. Who knows.

Shouldn't we be on our way, then...? Or are they a danger to those who flee?

Nah, we're fine. We can just walk out. Earth Dragon just wants to perform on stage like a real opera star. Poison Dragon, who moved into my tower, told me all about it.

[Kasumi perks up.]

She is doing an interesting performance, isn't she?

She is, yeah! This is the best show I've seen in years! Hee hee hee...

[Kefka passes the popcorn.]

I dare say the performance is improved for her part in it.

She is doing very well, isn't she?

I would not dare to claim that my understanding of dragon opera is pronounced enough to provide critique of any real substance or to determine where our current starlet stands compared to others of a similar desired career. But she shows promise, I would suppose from my uneducated stance.

[Which is Rose-speak for yes]

I am not very famiiliar with dragon opera, either. Kefka-kun tells me she is doing very well. I wonder if there will be a chance to see more like this. It would be lovely to see her improve even at her level, don't you think?

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-07-23 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
It would certainly be an intriguing experiment.
Perhaps find a human singer who is similarly new to the world of opera and see whether the dragon progresses at a similar pace or otherwise.
But then, of course, unlike Mr Palazzo, I am not an expert in opera, dragon or otherwise.

That is an idea. Perhaps Kefka-kun knows someone who might be interested. It would be nice to make her dreams come true, I think. I've come to understand that dragons are a solitary species. She might not have any family to join her, and I would think it hard to perform all on one's own. Wouldn't it be nice include her in regular performances? That might just be her dream!

I wouldn't know. Dragon is not a language I have been blessed with the ability to speak.

It would be a rare one, I expect. Perhaps one of the others could ask.

Are you fond of the usual opera, Miss Rose?

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-08-05 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
It is not my preferred art, no, though I won't deny it does hold some merit as an art, even if it is one I do not appreciate.

You seemed very aware of such things. I had thought you might be fond of it. May I ask what you favor more?

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-08-08 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose you could say my musical tastes aren't so far removed. Classical is my preferred genre, although I occasionally see fit to indulge Strider's so-called "sick beats" out of some misguided sense of loyalty no doubt.

[Because she can't just like something he does]

I cannot say I am familiar with that sort of music. Ill beats, is it? I am fond of o-enka, myself, as well as classical. There are many here quite good with their instruments. It is a shame they have not been able to play for us recently.

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-08-09 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure if Strider ever does decide to show his face to the community, you will be subjected to more than you would ever wish to be.

And why is that?

I suppose I will look forward to learning more about it when he does, then.

They're very busy with their own lives, I understand. Things are not going as well as they might.

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-08-13 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't get too excited if I were you, but then I've actually experienced his definition of music.

Oh?

I suppose I will determine if I am fond of it once I hear it, as well.

Yes, life does tend to change over time. They are capable people, however. I am sure things will work out for them.

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-08-20 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm sure you will.

That much I know only too well.
heavenlyhome: (quietly)

[personal profile] heavenlyhome 2012-08-26 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
I am sure that you do. But our trials make us stronger for the effort it takes to overcome them.

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-08-26 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
Assuming we survive them. But I'm sure that's not in question for your companions.
heavenlyhome: (that sounds like fun)

[personal profile] heavenlyhome 2012-08-28 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
No, not any longer, I don't think.

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-07-22 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
All at the same time? I would have thought so much shock at once would rather endanger the audience, particularly those of a more frail constitution.

[personal profile] grimdarkseer 2012-07-22 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, well there's weird and then there's dragon. And no, I don't suppose dragons are much good with planned events. So hard to get them to attend rehearsals when there's always that fear that they might get bored or upset and eat the lead before opening night.
