Accidental Video

[the_original_clone]

(A video feed starts out showing a dark room with several high tech machines lying around. Looking directly at the camera seems to be some kind of armor creature that is obviously not human. The camera seems to move but the armored figure doesn't move at all.)

What is this? Are these Psyducks? Why would Giovanni have something like this on one of his laptops?

I haven't met a lot of them, but some of the people on the community are okay. But in my world, normies are usually pretty scary. We have to be careful of angry mobs and stuff like that, or at least everybody says so.

[the_original_clone]

I am sorry to hear that. It must be hard. The humans over here aren't much better. The first humans I met were my creators who made me simply to satisfy their own selfish ends. They wanted to lock me up so that they could study me once I awoke. Like a lab rat.

[fearleads]

Really? I was made in a lab, too, but I was made to go out and have a life. That's so sad...

[the_original_clone]

(Mewtwo nods.)

Yes. I knew that could not be my destiny. So I broke free and destroyed the lab. Soon afterwards, I ran into Giovanni, my current partner. He is a shrewd man. I don't trust him but he is aiding me and he seems to be my only lead to finding my purpose.

[fearleads]

You mean, what you want to do with your unlife?

[the_original_clone]

I suppose that is one way to put it. I see it as looking for the reason I exist. I feel there must be some reason I came to be. I don't want to be a shadow of my other.

[fearleads]

The one you were made from?

[the_original_clone]

Yes. Mew, the ancestor of all Pokemon.

[fearleads]

So you're a clone of an ancient guy? I was just made from some parts from the morgue.

[the_original_clone]

You could say that. Mew still exists in the world though...I can feel it out there.

I'm sorry to hear that. It can't be easy for you.

[fearleads]

It's a little difficult, but everyone's different, aren't they?

[the_original_clone]

I suppose that is true enough.

[fearleads]

My best friends are a vampire and a werewolf, and they're not even supposed to get along. I think it'll get easier as it goes. So you can sense this Mew guy out there?

[the_original_clone]

(There is silence for a bit. It looks like Mewtwo is deep in thought. Eventually, he speaks.)

As I was waking up in my tube, I had a dream. I was underwater. When I rose out of it saw a beautiful landscape. A lake in the middle of a forest with a mountain in the distance. But it was like I was looking through eyes that weren't my own. I believe I somehow saw what Mew was seeing at that moment.

[fearleads]

Wow... that's kind of scary-cool. Maybe you'll even get to see them someday.

[the_original_clone]

(Mewtwo smiles gently.)

That would be nice. But for now, I have to wait. Giovanni might know something about my purpose so I need to get everything I can from him first.
