Let me tell you, community, working with kids is exhausting.

I suppose I'm a little young to be complaining about people being 'kids', but... well, Lotus Blossom's nice enough, but the whole "Red Army is made up of children" idea is causing problems. I'm starting to wish they'd gone with aging some of the characters up after all, whether it's in the book or not; getting One Favorite Pearl to take directions on set is difficult. She keeps losing focus and just playing with the rabbit.

I guess I should be glad for the work, though. I'm still a little nervous even now that we're filming - it's my first leading role, after all.

What do you think, community? Am I being too weird about this?

I've had to work with a lot of children but I didn't mind it. I was worried when they brought in a baby but even that turned out well.

Did it? That's good to hear, at least. I haven't had to deal with a baby yet, thankfully.

The lights and people scare them but if you just take the time to comfort them, it works out well.

It's not them being scared we've been having trouble with. It's getting them to focus. One Favorite Pearl's character carries this stuffed rabbit around, and she'd rather play with it when she's supposed to actually be acting.

No, I'd hate it too. If my writers cave to public pressure and introduce a pregnancy storyline, I'm going to go on strike.

Writers nothing. Whenever something like that happens to me it's always the editors or the producers having that idea.

But I meant to ask if I'm weird for being nervous about my first lead?

I don't think so. I've heard it's natural. I wasn't nervous myself, but then, I've always felt that I was born to perform. I'd say I'm the exception rather than the rule.

I don't think you're being weird at all! I was nervous when they first gave me my role, and that was just as a minor character. Although of course, I was only eight years old at the time... um, anyway, the point is I think it's completely natural to be nervous about having such a big part!

Heh, I suppose so.

Two Fire Herb is too good at his part, though. He really does make me want to punch him in the face, and after all the training I went through for this that would be awfully painful.

Oh dear... I know some directors encourage method acting, but I don't think anyone would want someone to get hurt on set like that! It sounds like someone needs to tone their acting down a little, hehe.

I'm not really going to punch him. He's just really good at it. The character will get what's coming to him eventually, anyway.
