[ The video feed opens up to what looks like the inside of an abandoned ruin. Yuri, Rita, and the rest of the party can be seen walking in. ]

[ ooc: 3:13 to the end of the video. The feed cuts just as Yuri stands to face the monster. As usual, replies will come an hour or so later, after the fight is over. Replies will come both from Yuri and Rita (blahblahblah) ]

[ He just sighed. ] If that's the case, then that's fine by me. I'd rather not fight something like when the aer's that heavy. The barrier holding it back must have driven it nuts. [ He looked at her, before speaking up, as if he just remembered something. ]

...It didn't have any poisonous claws either.

That is what I was going to ask next. [ A shake of the head. ] It is too soon to expect any results, regardless.

Yeah, I guess. Not that I want that thing walking around outside either. But, it got away. No point in chasing it. [ He smirked at her response. Yeah, give him a little more time, please. ]

Monsters are common in your world too, huh?

Leave it alone, and it shall return. Perhaps as a sidequest in the future. [ Or maybe she can assign him to defeat it or something as a task. ]

I hardly think the question even necessary. [ Because she did mention there were dragons in her world, right? ] However, yes there are a number those that prey and eat people.

[ He figured as much, but hey, gotta make sure. ] And you guys don't have any special way of protecting yourselves against them? We've got the barrier blastia, at least. [ Which kind of got destroyed, and, you know, that's why they had to fight that thing. ]

You don't really look like much of a fighter.

That... contraption that was shown in the video? Blastia, was it? No, there is nothing like that here... at least not to my knowledge. There are only those that are strong enough to stand up to such monsters.

Well, outside of the cities, that's all we have too. Knights, guilds, whoever decides to fight. Kinda unsettling to know that monsters this big are outside the barrier's protection, though.

So really? No magic, nothing?

Not usually. This one looked a little weird, like it was already malfunctioning. It was making the environment around it pretty unstable too.

Besides, our princess over here knows how to fight with a sword and heal with magic.

Try the pink haired, flowerdressthing girl. She's not well traveled no matter how you look at her. This is her first time out of the castle and all.

Yet she still knows how how to use a sword. How unique, truly. [ only not ] Exactly why is this princess in such a dangerous area? I would expect a thousand men to guard her if she were to be out of the castle.

Well, Estelle's not exactly supposed to be outside of the castle. Remember when I told you about how I helped a princess break out of her castle? You're looking at her.

Maybe you should learn how to sword fight too, your highness.

[ A tired yawn. ] You helped a princess out of a castle. It seems just a bit contradictory that she needed help escaping yet knows how to use a sword and magic.... unless you are making her abilities sound much stronger than they are.

I have no interest in learning how to use the sword. [ dodggging ]

Well, she's not as good as me with a sword, or Rita with magic. The brown haired girl, who was all over that blastia. Anyway, she can fight, but she's not really a match for the knights that were trying to keep her in there.

[ At this point she simply raises a hand. ] Enough, Yuri. It sounds as if all you have to share is rather dull. This is coming off rather like a common epic- one in which even the fights are simply brushed over. [ No, Kags. Conversations are a two-way street. :T ]

I do not know the entire story, of course, but let us begin with the basics. [ She takes a sip of her tea before she begins. ] You aided a princess in her escape on her behalf. Naturally, this must make you a wanted man on some account, but you persist in your endeavor. Whatever you are trying to accomplish, it is high risk not only on your part but the nation's future. You are escorting the princess for something she found it necessary to abandon her immediate duties; perhaps it is a conspiracy, perhaps she simply wished to see the world. You protect her, Rita, and others in your party. Somewhere along the line, it has become more than a quest simply baring to the immediate. You have already encountered a dragon; furthermore, there are dangerous beasts that reside in your world. There are only certain items that are capable of protecting entire cities.

Whether you succeed or fail in whatever you are trying to do matters little. Simply enough, this is a tale that will be passed from milk maids to their children. Even if the royal family cuts it from official record book, this adventure shall be scattered, distorted, and dramatized upon the tips of tongues. In fact, I would be suspicious of finagling on a higher power's part if this tale was not passed down. If you, a supposed commoner, did not see this from happening when you first decided to aid the princess I question your intelligence.

That sounds like a great story and all, but this isn't my mission. She just wanted out. I just happened to be in the castle at the time. That's all. The only reason she's with me now is because she wants to see more of the world. Me? I'm just chasing a thief. That's not especially important to the empire, I'm doing this for the folks back home. Once I get back what he stole, that'll be the end of my "adventure".

[ Though he couldn't lie. It was fun, traveling the world like this. ]

I guess you got some parts right. I am a wanted man. For kidnapping the princess among other things.

A wanted man chasing a thief. Did you not think this through at all? [ Gently, she sets the tea down. ] If you have a black mark on your record and are associated with a princess, if she does not pull the most elaborate of political strings... a complete villain shall be made out of you. She looks young and unimpressive; I doubt she could convince any council to approve a full pardon she might give you.

No, Yuri- when your adventure is over I doubt that all will return to the simple life you once had. By agreeing to help a princess, you signed your life and any potential children and grandchildren you may have away.

[ He just shrugged. ] Yeah, you're right about that. Our council is pretty corrupt, and I don't think she could do it. But...I'm not worried. I'll figure something out. Maybe I could use the fact that I saved the heir to the throne from drowning too. He seemed like a pretty nice guy. [ He gave an exasperated sigh. ]

Sheesh, how do I keep getting caught up in these things.
