[Video opens on Bane, big and hulking and laying asleep on a rather minimal cot. It’s not clear where he is, but wherever it is, it is incredibly dank and dark, with only a dim lantern on the wall providing any illumination. Somewhere, there’s the faint sound of rushing water.

Above the dull background, a small, pitiful meow is heard.

Bane blinks awake, unmoving. For a moment, he lays still, his eyes alert until he hears it again – a tiny, plaintive meow.

Curled up against his arm is the most tiny, adorable kitten. It looks up at him with wide eyes before meowling again.

Very, very carefully, Bane sits up, tilting his head as he looks down at the small creature. And moving very cautiously, he scoops it up with his palm, still staring at it with slight confusion.

And then, very, very, very gently, he reaches down to stroke the kitten’s head with his finger.

The kitten quiets and begins to purr happily.]

[Is that an 'aww' in the background? Yep. Rita is awwing at you, Bane.] That's so sweet.

[Bane is now holding the kitten in his hand so that it can curl against his chest. He speaks hesitantly, still stroking the cat gently.]

She is...a sweet animal.

I see that. Did you get her recently?

Yes. I woke up and she was here. She must have wandered in to this place.

She must have been looking for somewhere to hide.

Perhaps. She is safe here if something is endangering her. [HE WILL MURDER ANYTHING THAT TRIES TO HURT THE KITTEN.]

[He looks scary enough even with the kitty that safety shouldn't be an issue as far as Rita is concerned. Who would be stupid enough to mess with a cat hanging out with that guy?]

That's good to know, but do you have food for her? She'll get hungry eventually.

... They are quite lovely creatures.

I would not know. But she is rather lovely.

I take it you have never observed a cat before, then.

I have never had any reason to. It was never prudent.

How so? My line of work is rather risky, but I cannot say I have ever felt it would be imprudent to observe small animals.

One got inside my house somehow too. [It's a ridiculous mask.]

Look. [And Arthur mo0ves the webcam so bane can see his new, very grumpy looking, cat.]

Hrmm. So it has. [Your kitty is not nearly as cute as my kitty. Bane's kitty shifts and turns to look at Arthur's cat on the screen, giving it a friendly meow and swishing her tail.]

[IT'S WEIRD AND IT SHOULDN'T BE THERE.]

Other people are getting furry little creatures too, it might be another virus. [I got a kitty with personality, sue me Arthur's kitty stares with her forever grumpy look but she meows back. She's happy, really.]

Perhaps. Or perhaps it is coincidence. [Mine is nicer. Bane's kitty paws at the screen, tail still swishing, meowing again for attention.]

Hrrrm. She desires your cat's attention.

I've been in this community long enough to know coincidences don't happen. [ B/ this isn't a competition!]

So it looks like. [Arthur looks down and his cat. She stares back. He finally picks her up again and puts her in front of the laptop.] Better?

Why do you have a cat?

She appeared here. I had not seen her here before.

[The kitty is curled against his chest, with Bane slowly stroking her ears.]

She just appeared? [Sounds like the community at work. Ezio gives a somewhat incredulous look, but doesn't linger on it for too long.] What will you do with her?

I will watch over her. [LOOKIT THIS CAT. HE WILL MURDER TO PROTECT THIS CAT.] She will be safe here.
