To all of my students in my Friday evening psychology class, try to remember that you have an essay due about frontotemporal dementia. I expect to have all of the essays in my office bin by 3 PM Wednesday. Any of you who try and turn it in later, even if by a minute, will have your essays rejected and earn a zero for it. Remember, this is worth 40% of your overall grade in my class.

While your intentions are apparent, addressing your students in this manner is unacceptable and violates a code of conduct for the staff. Edit, retract, or apologize for what is written here and I will take no further action of reporting this instance.

...Incidentally, will I be marked down if it's longer than you wanted? It's happened before.
no subject
No, it is foolish to knock down a student for going the extra mile. I cannot say whether you will get extra credit for going over the asked length though.
no subject
[She shrugs.] I've been marked down for it before, actually. I lost a few points on a five-page paper that I couldn't cut down under seven for "being unnecessarily long-winded".

Remember, I grade on quality. I am willing to read extra as even if you went over twice the asked length I could finish grading all the papers within and hour. However, the more pages you use, the more there is for me to critic and judge to better/worsen your grade with. Keep that in mind.

Yes, to be able to classify why someone around you is insane is quite interesting. It was an old game I would play with some of the people I worked with before.

[seriously don't you have a life, why are you always early with these things]

[Oh, look, it's that young woman that skips every one of your classes that isn't important to her grade or interesting sounding. But every single thing she turns in shows a lot of effort and dedication on it.]
