Hehe, alright, I guess I'll take your word on it. I'm guessing his flirtatious ways aren't getting to you yet.

Of course they aren't.

[ They do like every time but she's good at hiding it because she doesn't want them to and she knows they're not real. Or at least she's convinced herself as much. ]

You know, he's been telling me of his efforts, and how they're not working. [Very discreetly, but it's not like he's not going to tell Lydia.]

What kinds of things has he been telling you?

How it seems that whatever he's trying to do, it isn't getting through to you.

If he asks you again, maybe let him know that making it impossible to do anything by covering my office in flowers or tricking me into going out with him wouldn't be the best strategy with anyone.

[ Even if she doesn't really want him to try other things, at least maybe he'll get the message and stop filling up her office... ]

...wait, he's still pulling that crap on you? And you would think the guy would have learned by now...alright, alright, I'll relay the information to him soon enough, got it?

Well that was one of his most recent tactics. Being overbearing is not being a gentleman. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure I can be more gentlemanly than he is, and that's saying something on my part. If I wanted to ask a girl out, I'd probably just give them a single flower...not...a whole room of them.

And men can give a woman flowers if they don't have romantic interest, right?

Yeah, they totally can. It's like me giving you flowers, I'd probably only do it if I wanted to give you some.

Some flowers actually mean friendship too, like sunflowers.

Or a yellow rose, that also means friendship, you know.

Exactly. THere are plenty of non-romantic flowers.

Why bring up the flower subject, anyway? Is there someone you're itching to get flowers from...in a totally platonic way?

Oh-- no, I just got a flower from Mr. Langley. He works with my father and he's rather nice and friendly. Edgar seemed to think it meant more than politeness and got in a huff about it after.

Haha, well, what kind of flower was it, first of all? A sunflower? Cause if so, then it's just a friendly gesture and Edgar should totally just cool his jets.

Daisies. They're hardly a love confession, he was simply being nice because he comes over to help my father a lot.

Oh, well that's nothing to worry about in the first place. Daisies are hardly something you'd want to give to someone you love. But hey, that's nice he's doing that for you, at least.

Exactly. It was only once and Edgar got upset because I was happier to receive those than to be overwhelmed with hundreds of flowers that are making a menace of themselves..

I'm pretty sure anyone would be happier receiving one flower than a whole room full of the things. That's just over kill right there. Edgar is just way too jealous, I swear. He even talks about me getting too close to you, apparently.

He refuses to believe that males and females can be friends, I think. He even told me it was "all over" if I thought of him as a friend.
