So I think I just did something incredibly stupid but I was forgiven for it. Lemme recap.

So I saved a young player in the forest from a bunch of Apes a few levels higher than she was. Her name is Silica, and she's a nice girl. Lemme get a picture up of her, I got a screenshot.

Cute huh? In any case, I saved her and her pet dragon Pima was killed in battle. So we went to the 45th floor and I helped her get a flower that will revive battle pets within 3 days of their death.

Now the dumb thing about it, is that she was being hunted by a PK guild. I know, horrible isn't it? They were scouting her and lining her up for a kill when I intervened. I sent those scum to jail after stating in no matter of terms that I would kill them all if I wasn't asked to send them to jail by a crystal made from a Guild Leader who's guild was wiped out by these cutthroats.

Thing is, we promised to see each other in the real world. So I guess I got myself a extra goal to reach now.

So yeah, you can tell me it was a dumb idea, killing two birds with one stone metaphorically. What I want to know is was it a really dumb idea to use Silica as bait, or should I have come clean? The letter I got from myself said I should use her as bait and apologize but you know how well that turns out even if she likes me.

I dunno about that. Silica seems to like me still and we talk every so often.

Well I've already told her the truth. I guess there's nowhere to go but up.

Pfffh. Well... she took it better than expected. And she said she'd fight for my affections.

Does it really count, if it's a game? I mean, it's all just pixels and stuff, right?

Hey, Kirito? I can understand why you wanted to, but don't kill anyone. Promise me, okay?

It wouldn't have been a fair battle anyhow. I was thirty levels higher than the whole lot of them, and I could regenerate HP faster than they could injure me. It would have been like swatting a gnat with a bazooka.

... but yeah I promise.

[ She's pretty relieved at that either way. ]

Good. Anyway, I'm glad you got through that alright.

Well... to be fair I was just toting my level over theirs. SAO is a lot of things but unfair level-wise isn't one of them. It's one of those things that remains consistent.

What do you mean?

[ She's still not exactly a video game person, for all she uses terms occasionally. Most of them she learned from the guys that she worked with in the SSS or recently while she was trying to learn. She doesn't exactly get what it would mean to be unfair level-wise. ]

Like level 500 players aren't allowed to attack level 20 players or something?

Well what I told them when they attacked me, is that I'm level 74 and they're level 40ish. Because my stats are so high over theirs, they tried to cut me down but I regenerate health faster than they can damage me.

So basically I scared them into cooperating because I could PK them effortlessly.

That's a tough call. On the one hand, yeah, that's a horrible thing you did. And I can name a hundred ways that could have backfired. All of them end in her dying. But on the other hand, future advice doesn't always come with a set of explanations why to do it.

I know. I guess my intimidation factor was enough to make them back down. They'll be spending a long time in jail because of their deeds anyhow.

I'll make it up to Silica, I promise.

Yeah, well, you've got to be a certain kind of person to have a really commanding aura like that. And even then, some people are immune.

Good. Not sure if it is a good idea to tell her, to be honest. Not to tell her it was on purpose, at least. She'll find out either way, but break it to her easily without breaking her trust and provoking her to do something reckless.

I've got a reputation as The Black Swordsman, so that helps.

Well I already admitted to her I used her, but she seemed fine with it because we got Pima back for her. I still want to apologize though.

Sounds a little close to the Black Knight, and after Monty Python, that kind of loses its edge.

Wow, that is ridiculously lucky. Yeah, definitely apologize, get her flowers, whatever. Finding someone who forgives all the insane shit you do is rare and priceless.

Fortunately it's been years since Monty Python was big, but the same thing counts. Asuna has the nickname "The Flash" now for being a ridiculously fast rapier fighter.

Okay, I'll get her something in apology. I am kinda lucky, although I guess we're not too far away from age range at that. But I suppose that's a conversation for another time.

I mean, if she ever finds out, she's probably going to be pretty angry at you that you didn't tell her what was going on.

Going to. Just to make sure that she doesn't stay upset at me. She WAS very happy about Pima though.

I guess she's pretty attached to that monster. What are they like anyway?

Pima's a baby dragon. I'm sure it'll get bigger later on, but for now they're at a manageable size.

Silica on the other hand is energetic. She reminds me of you actually.

Well she's sweet, caring, very nice, and basically is determined to get what she needs to get at times. She can be very focused and very brave.
