Fraternization

I pose a question for everyone who is in the military on the community, or knows people who were in it and/or in a situation where the genders are segregated for the sake of work.

What do you think of fraternization while on duty? Does it work out for you? Or are you in a situation where it's not worrisome to talk to the others? I ask this because Commander Minna recently lifted the order to keep the mechanics from talking with the Witches. I can't say I blame her for her reasons, but is something like this a problem in other worlds?

And that's fine, but on duty, it needs to be strictly business. Nothing more.

From what you've said, it sounds as if off-duty fraternization is still distracting. It takes place in your camps, after all.

A soldier should see their country that way.

Bonds are fine. It's just that the word "fraternization" implies something else. Distraction, lack of seriousness, and so on.

If you really only meant being comrades in arms-- or the breakdown of gender segregation-- then I'll change my answer.

I think that's a mark of an uncivilized society.

What were the reasons?

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

There are many foolish reasons to segregate an army, and I have to say, the effect it would have on romantic prospects isn't one I've heard before.

It tells me something about your commander, in any case.

Right.
