Most names have a meaning, don't they?  Something like "brave ruler" or "sea" or "guardian".  I was wondering what other people's names meant and why their parents chose that...only if you know and willing to share, of course!

[ranka fiddles with the laptop while frowning.]

Oh, hi, computer!  It's Ranka and I got turned into a puppy and it felt strange at first but I think I got the hang of it but there's no one to scratch my ears please help.

((OOC: Pretend that the video shows only what they'd see on TV.  And Sheryl's dive on stage because that is cool as all hell.  BUT BASICALLY WHAT IS HAPPENING is that Sheryl's song affects the bug alien thingies, the Vajra, at the expense of her health.  She is on the verge of death.  And it's working but then Grace is like 'oh no you don't bitch' and uses Ranka to sing who has more power of the Vajra with her voice for reasons she will ICly explain later.  That should cover everything....  Chronology for posts is Sheryl's goodbye,  Grace going "what now, team good", and this one.  <:  Best is yet to come.))

No matter. Brera-kun was so helpful leading me to the Vajra planet, to Ranka. He was eloping with her, you know. His own little sister! Disgusting little bastard. I took care of that, don't worry. I'm sure he'll be glad to show you.

Oh...hm. Ranka-chan... She's doing fine, don't worry. I'm sure when the fleet shows up you'll hear her.

[ After slamming her hand on the touchpad to record, Sheryl finishes pulling a sweater down over her head, apparently getting ready to go somewhere in the most hectic manner possible. All through the video she's rushing back and forth for various things ]

Listen up, all of you! People are already starting to talk, so I want to make sure you know one very important thing!

[ She shoves a breakfast bar in her mouth, ripping a brush through her hair with the other hand ]

Whnrevr Rgnk-- [ aaand swallow ] Wherever Ranka-chan's gone, she's abandoned exactly no one! Betraying Frontier would be the last thing she'd ever do! So if you hear anyone talking about her betraying us, put it right out of your mind! Put it out of their mind, too!

[ she picks up her phone and, before dialing, points right at the camera ]

[ she walks offscreen, and you hear a door slam.

Yeah, this video of an empty living room is going to continue for a while. ]

[ Sheryl still has a feed set up to post anything relevant to her, and boy, is this relevant.

The video opens up on a somewhat harried-looking newscaster sitting at a desk, a video screen behind her showing various video. ]

As we begin to piece together a timeline of the events earlier today, what comes to light is how little we know of the causes of today's devastating attack. The Vajra appeared to come from somewhere inside the ship; but it's not known from where, or why they did not react to Ranka Lee's song.

[ video switch ]

In the immediate aftermath footage is hard to come by, but this zoomed-in shot shows Ranka Lee, singer Sheryl Nome, and an unknown student on the roof of the school during the attack. Unfortunately, despite her best efforts, the vajra continued to rampage. The whereabouts of Sheryl Nome are currently unknown.

[ she puts one hand to her ear and her eyeline shifts; she's reading off a teleprompter now ]

--We are receiving reports that the plan to draw the Vajra into Island-3 and detonate Little Girl has succeeded. Mop-up efforts will continue, but the main force has been exterminated; the evacuation of the residents was fully completed, and it seems that Ranka Lee is herself confirmed safe.

--And it seems we have footage of-- William, do we have the footage? Here you see what is apparently a cell phone video of Sheryl Nome, singing in an emergency shelter in a moving parallel to what was happening above. In the days to come, we must keep our spirits up, as well as keeping ourselves safe--

Getting ready for a concert is really tiring.  But in the good way, of course!  Everything's almost ready for Sunday, all that's left is another rehearsal of everything.  My first real concert....  It'd be more like a re-do, wouldn't it, since it never started the first time?  It doesn't matter too much because this time, it's all going to happen for sure!  I wish Brera and Roxas and Quatre were here to see it.

If anybody wants to come, tell me, okay?  There aren't too many regular seats left, but I know I can work something out if I ask the arena managers hard enough!

And Sheryl-san, if you're reading, are you alright?

[At first glance, it's simply a ritzy hotel room. Top of the line, expensive wallpaper, gilded mirror... That sort of thing. The mirror's cracked, smeared with already drying blood. Grace is out of the picture.]

Tell them that Brera Sterne--he's. Not to get in. After me, he might go after you--I'm sorry, Sheryl...

I couldn't stop him--damn it... [Her sentence is cut off as she falls down, bringing the camera with her. It focuses on the other side of the room. The wallpaper is torn, slashed. The expensive furniture is overturn, what's not destroyed, that is.

And Grace...

Even though only Grace's back is seen, it's clear she's not in good shape. Just by the way she fell, the way she's trying to get herself back up and failing, by the several slashes across her back. How her hair is sticking to her back, to her head... So much blood...] He's went crazy.

Last night, the fate of the community was sealed. Soon enough, the Little Queen will rise; when? Not even she knows.

Soon... Soon all will be united under her banner. The end draws near.

You know? I've got a question, community: where's the best hunting spots? I think a friend of mine would like to know. Get some bonding time in, you know, they've been in the hospital a while.

What on Earth is going on today? Honestly!

In any case, no one worry about a thing. Ranka-chan and I are back on Frontier now, fit as anything! They're holding us in the hospital a day or so to make sure we haven't picked up any strange alien bugs (I never want to hear the words alien bugs again), but we're back safe and sound.

And thanks to everyone who commented on that video post ♥ But I'm totally fine, just like always! A bad fever for a few days is nothing to worry about.

[quiet conversation between ranka and the voice of a boy about her age overlay the swooshing of air past a moving plane.  it's nothing of consequence, and it's really rather soothing.

then comes the sound of forty alarms going off at the same time, panicked clicking of controls, the volume of the wind increasing as it dives, ranka screaming--

it abruptly ends on her shriek of terror.]
