You could have just said so. If I didn't get the entire speech it wouldn't have even bothered me. Or you told me you kissed him beforehand... Best friends share things like that, don't they?

[ He takes a breath, looking down and nodding ] We're okay.

The only time I'd kissed him before I told you that was when he stole one and when I was virused and had. I never mentioned it after that because Battler and I agreed that anything that happened inside his cape never was supposed to leave his cape. Exception now based on the best friend clause and me being an idiot.

He fell asleep while I was trying to teach him about computers, so I just.. went to sleep with him. I woke up in his arms and thought he was asleep so I kissed him, but he was being a sneaky jerk and we kissed for a little bit. He tried to say something that I didn't like, so I cut him off. Then we goofed around and he posted that thing on my journal.

Because me kissing him isn't.. me returning his feelings, or accepting them. It's only kissing. He knows I'm not going to say that I feel for him anything beyond liking him, that I'm not going to do anything else with him no matter how much he wants me to as long as I still have to worry about disappearing and leaving him behind if I get satisfied. [ She pouts slightly, adding. ] Or if a virus happens, in which case I can't be held responsible for my actions since those things are awful.

I've got feelings, I'm just not going to share them with him. We're not together or anything, we're just kissing. He said he'd be fine with just being close to me.

When Iwasawa disappeared, it was because she was able to play a song that she'd wanted to and accepted that. Just because I'm feeling something doesn't mean I should accept it. Sometimes when I'm with him I really... feel like things are going to be okay. That's why I know I shouldn't.

If love is normal then it's all the more reason not to let anything come of it. [ She pauses for a moment, obviously hesitant to say something but it's Steve.. ] I never wanted to love or even care about anyone besides my siblings. If I let myself do that it would feel like I was betraying them. Even kissing him.. it kind of feels a little bit like that, and I definitely hurt you when I did.

You should have every bit of happiness you can get and I'm sure your siblings would agree with me so giving up on love all together seems like more of a betrayal.
