[ And now for another episode of: 'What the hell are you doing, Steve?'
In this week's episode: Rescue Missions!

You're treated to an interesting view of a hall of cells containing war prisoners. There's a guy patrolling it. It's silent until Steve -- sneaks up behind the guy and knocks him out before stealing his keys. Steve is wearing his Captain America costume with a jacket and pants over it, that shield strapped to his back, and equipment that doesn't belong to him. (Wasn't one of his dancers wearing that helmet?)

The guys in the cell look reasonably confused: ] Who are you supposed to be?

Um... Captain America.

I beg your pardon? [ Steve starts letting them all out and they talk amongst themselves ]

Is there anybody else? I'm looking for a Sergent James Barnes. [ Someone answers that he might be in a spot nobody ever comes back from. Steve takes a little breath, nods, and starts giving them directions to get out. ]

-Get out fast and give 'em hell. I'll meet you guys in the clearing with anybody else I find.
[ The guys are still giving him a baffled look because who the hell is this guy seriously ] Wait- you know what you're doing?

Yeah. I've knocked out Adolf Hitler over 200 times. [ And with that Steve runs off camera while the guys exchange looks. ]

...Was he wearing a duck pin?

You mean the one I just got involved with? [ Ducks his head in amusement ] Alright then.

If you ever remember a missing detail, feel free to ask if it'll help with anything. I know files tend to be a little lacking sometimes.

I'll keep that in mind, Captain Rogers. Actually, I'm sure it'll come up.

I'll be happy to fill in the blanks when it does. [ pause ] You could just call me Steve if you want. Everyone on here does.

This is my first experience with different time periods. I'll have to work on that.

[Call... call him Steve? Him? Call Captain America by name? It takes all his willpower to, well, contain himself. Inside he is prancing though.]

Ah... right. Right! Steve then. Thanks, ah, Steve.

That's okay. I still haven't figured it out myself and I've been here a while. Everybody's either way back from me or very far ahead.

It's all a weird situation. Interesting though.

Oh! Sometimes I think it may as well be, but no. It's Phil.

Of course! I mean, yeah, absolutely. Please do.

[ 'of course!' ahaha ] Phil then.

[This is going straight into the diary. All of it.]

Great! Maybe we'll get the chance to meet in person sometime. What with the, ah, world hopping thing. [...and not because of any frozen in ice like a tv dinner thing.]

[ Is it a Captain America diary? ]

I'm sure we will. The people here like their parties and participating is mandatory sometimes. [ steve will never enjoy tv dinners :C ]

[...maybe. A little. Just a small piece of official merchandise.]

Mandatory, huh? Well, that's something to... look forward to. I'm not one for compulsory participation. [He is, however, one for meeting Captain America so somehow he'll manage.]

I haven't been forced to go to one yet but I'm told it happens. Viruses could stick people together on occasion too.

In any case, I'm sure there will be opportunities.

It's a bit impressive and frightening that it has that significant an effect and reach.

Undoubtedly.

It is. Sometimes it's downright horrifying what it seems to do.

I get that general gist, from what people have said. I expect I'll see first hand before too long.

Hopefully your first one isn't so bad.

Thanks. That's my hope too, but either way, it'll be dealt with as it comes up.

Ideally, yes. I'd hate to do any less and let the director down.

Did you have to explain the community to your director?

[notmyfirstrodeo]

I did. And after a mini psychological evaluation, he believes me about its existence.

[doyoufondue]

That's good then. It'd probably make things mighty difficult if he didn't. He'll have to cut you some slack during a virus.

[notmyfirstrodeo]

Someone would have to explain the concept of cutting slack to him before that happened. It's not in his vocabulary.

He a serious fella? I suppose he'd have to be to keep track of his men.
