It's 2:00am here on Isla Sorna and the sound of compys (Procompsognathus for those of you unfamiliar with dinosaur slang) chirping and scratching against the walls of the trailer prevents me from getting any sleep whatsoever. With my luck, I’m probably the only one awake and definitely the only one typing away at a laptop this late at night. But, hey. Anything to pass the time.

My name is Ian Malcolm and I’m a ~~mathematician~~ chaotician. Really, I couldn’t think of a better community to join, especially one that thrives on such chaos. It would make for an interesting experiment to see if my arrival might effect the community as a whole and if it will (hopefully not) cause any turbulence. Yup. That’s chaos theory for you.

No. But they can jump.

Climb higher. With the weapons you've got you don't stand a chance against anything like that, especially with a kid. Humans just aren't cut out for that kind of thing.

Not exactly. I still wouldn't take on a pack of raptors unless I was getting paid very, very well.

Lucky for us that we're doing this for free.

Not surprising, though. Most folks don't really want packs of raptors taken out. Unless they're in your position, I guess.

Too bad you're not here. You seem to know how to fight well, but I don't know if I can pay you enough to kill an entire nest of raptors.

We're on different worlds, and I don't have the means to travel. Talk to anyone like Demyx who can hook me up with a ride -- hell, I work for charity half the time, anyway.

Dinosaurs, though. Never actually saw one of those. Not a real one, anyway -- I'm pretty sure it was already dead.

I don't think the dinosaurs here are even real anyway. Could you call clones real?
