[Text | Regular Virus]
[The community has helpfully supplied a picture of the situation, because it's too loud for video to be at all helpful. Jak is crouched behind what looks like about half of a firing-range target that stands up from the floor. The background is hard to make out, it seems to be full of sparks. There's a little black and yellow disc somewhere at the top of the shot.]

Aren't bullets supposed to stop ricocheting eventually?!?!?

[Yes, multiple punctuation marks. He's kind of stressed out. Having a Gyro Burster drone go crazy on you will do that.]

[Jak's looking kind of exhausted as he leans against a car out in Kliever's garage.]

Anyone else get frustrated when a player just goes and does minigames for ages? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm as grateful to get played as anybody, but I've been running all over the place because somebody's been doing orb hunts, and I didn't even get anything accomplished.

Not to mention that one we tried three times, but he hasn't unlocked the wings yet so he can't actually reach it. Too far to even get a long jump going...

I don't even mind the ones who just hang around and explore, but he was really focused on orb hunts. And just orb hunts.

[Video | Grab Bag Virus: Regression]
[Jak has escaped to the mostly-deserted Industrial District so as to avoid running into his friends while this latest virus is in effect. He's currently sitting just outside the old Power Station (he'd be inside it, but he doesn't want to draw Vin's attention) frowning down at his computer and not doing much else.

This would be because he's been reduced to a younger version, and said younger version can't actually talk. After a moment his ears droop, and the video feed switches over to text.]

This one again? Must be that time of year. Daxter would die laughing.

((OOC: 12:15 is totally Monday. Replies will come from presound_hero, starting in just a couple minutes once it's set up.))

[Accidental Video/Locked from Utsuho]
[Yeah, so you know that post with the blasted-looking wasteland where Jak got apparently vaporized? That general area is back... In fact, to those with an eye for detail, it's the same crater that was left in that post.

There's a light shining in the middle of it, just visible through a crack in the shell of rock that's cooled in the bottom. A bright, white light. That's all there is on the video for a few minutes, the light gradually getting stronger as the rock cracks a little more, until finally it breaks open completely and a glowing hand forces its way free.]

Cut for possibly triggery injury stuff. )

((OOC: Replies will ICly come quite a long time later, possibly on the order of several days, but for convenience's sake I'll be replying in as timely a manner as I usually do (not very, but probably not as bad as the actual gap.

An explanation: Utsuho-mun and I flubbed the actual process for plots involving death, so it turns out Jak survived after all. Still, Jak's going to be in pretty bad shape for a while now despite his healing, just "heal plz" bad shape rather than "rez plz" bad shape.))
05 September 2012 @ 07:48 pm
[ It's well known that the community likes to show untimely deaths. Maybe it's a good thing, considering those who care would not be able to find out if a friend died or not anyway else. ]

Cut for destruction and character death )

[Jak's off on a rooftop somewhere, looking down into... well, it's kind of a dump, actually, all broken concrete and discarded boards and muddy sandbars in a lake of grimy water. Standing up above everything on a little island are the remains of a hut. This is Dead Town, and it's all that remains of the village Jak grew up in.]

Wonder if it's weird that I still want to save a world, even if it's not this one, and even if the person I'd be saving it from used to be pretty nice.

[He sighs a little, shakes his head, and starts singing softly, almost to himself.]

Tryin' to earn a set of feathery wings... )

[Video] [Backdated to yesterday, fake virus!]
[There's a green and yellow dog-like thing staring into the camera, panting a little. Those are some serious teeth it's got, but it seems fairly friendly.

And then Jak's voice comes in.]

Huh. I don't think I've had this one before. It's kind of interesting... though I need to remember to do my laundry when I have thumbs again. Didn't realize how much it smells.

[The crocadog looks off to one side, apparently toward the laundry.

Of course, what's really happening is that Jak's attempting to ventriloquize from off camera. Thankfully he's found a friendly crocadog who's willing to look towards a treat on cue. He was going to just be Mar again, but this seemed funnier. The hard part will be keeping its attention. He's just hoping his microphone doesn't make it too obvious where he actually is.]
18 May 2012 @ 07:56 pm
[Here is a Jak. Here is a Jak examining his wings. One wing seems to be more a set of tendrils in a winglike shape, glowing blue-white, and the other is made of floating, intricate structures of bronze-colored metal, lined with odd symbols (were anybody obsessive enough to take a picture and somehow had the resources to translate them, they would read "h-e-r-o").]

Well, this is... new. It's like the most harmless virus ever. All it seems to be is awkward.

Then again, I guess I'm used to having wings.
21 April 2012 @ 02:59 am
[Here's Jak, or at least someone who looks like Jak. Here's Jak in weird armor, lounging on a throne. He waves at the camera and grins jauntily.]

Hey, everybody. How's it going? Can't talk long right now - gotta move before Dad comes back - but I'm curious. Looks like a virus is going around again? Seems to have missed me this time, at least.

So... this heir thing. Dad's started to bug me about it more. Well, mostly Pecker. It's not like Dad doesn't have a long time left in him; I seriously doubt I'm going to be sitting here for real for ages yet. But Pecker insists I oughta think about finding somebody and settling down. And I'm really not ready to do that. I'm enjoying my freedom while I've got it, right?

[He flashes another grin and shrugs a little.] I don't know, maybe I'm just looking for somebody to complain at.

With as nosy as Charle is, I thought she would have realized that I was in a relationship with multiple people long ago. The woman looked like she was about to faint when I mentioned that I was planning on spending time with them in the near future. For what ever reason, she thought I was in a relationship with just Naesala. I do believe her memory is finally starting to go...

Also, Knock Out? You are, of course, more than welcome to join us if Morrigan does not have anything planned for you and the rest of her group. Just please keep the jealousy to a minimum. It is not necessary to glare daggers at Jak and Naesala if either of them touch me.

[Rose's harem includes Naesala, Jak, Breakdown, and shared custody of Knock Out with Morrigan.]

[Jak's sitting in a garage, staring at a giant robot. He doesn't look pleased, and insofar as the big metal creature has an expression it mostly just looks rather confused.]

Does anyone want to tell me why there's a giant robot in my garage? Or where the Slam Dozer went? It's hard to miss, it's got a bunch of armor and has a giant metal ram on the front.

This really isn't a good day. Seems like half the people I know here are, I don't know, back in time or something, and don't remember me, and then I come into the garage and find out my car's been replaced with a giant robot. All these freaking viruses at once...

[Hello, community, here's a rather concerned-looking Jak. And peering over his shoulder is another Jak - looks like he might be a couple years younger? He has much longer hair, anyway.]

Okay, so you're saying this... thing in the computer pulled me - both of me - through time? I think I had enough time travel for one lifetime already.

Maybe you'll forget it when you go back. I know I don't remember this happening. Anyway, let me explain things.

Hey, guys? Has this happened to anyone else? [He jerks a thumb over his shoulder at the other Jak.] Younger me showed up this morning and nearly shot me.

[A bandage-wrapped hand taps him on the shoulder, and the two of them part to reveal a familiar sight - this version of Jak has been here before, it's the young one who doesn't talk.] Oh, and so did even-younger-me. Except he didn't shoot me.

So, uh... how am I supposed to deal with this? I can't really lock all three of me in here until the virus ends. I do that too much anyway...

[The middle version of Jak coughs. It sounds suspiciously like lucky bastard.]

[See Jak, who looks not too happy at the moment]

I don't care what in Soa's name is going on right now. Just someone get me a world hope to the Dreaming.

[There is a knock on the door behind him, which the sound of it makes him flinch slightly.]

[Your view is of a frame of padded bars - those familiar with the vehicle might recognize it as the rollcage of a dune buggy of some sort, though longer and lower than buggies usually are, about the shape of a sports car. Beyond the roll cage is a desert, or apparently so - the driving sandstorm makes it hard to see much else, but the view's tinted very slightly reddish with crosshairs in the center.

A huge wall with an odd circular structure set into it looms out of the clouds of sand, and the structure irises open to reveal a garage, which the view moves into - a grinding noise suggests that it's closed behind him. The viewpoint moves upward and leaves the vehicle, as if it was attached to the head of someone getting out, and heads for a smaller door that opens automatically, passing through to a city composed mainly of yellow bricks.

The person on whose head the camera seems to be riding enters a building and sits down at a desk with a computer, at which point the camera moves forward and downward quickly, turning around as it does until you have a very decent view of a fairly familiar blue-jacketed chest. Jak fiddles around behind the view for just a moment before sitting back and clicking around on the computer, looking satisfied.]

I actually wasn't sure that would work without asking Keira. But it looks like I can record for the community from my goggles now. Nice to know.

... I'm sorry about my Shadow. If I'd know what that fog did...

Never mind. No use changing it now. I guess I have to actually deal with my feelings now, instead of just ignoring them, huh?

On the other hand, having a Persona is actually pretty cool. Even if mine seems to think he's a disco ball.

[Locked to Rose]
... Sorry.

[Jak is sitting on a throne, a tarnished golden crown on his head. His skin seems a little paler than usual, and when he looks up - yep, there are those yellow eyes.

Sweetly, he says:

Don't you just hate it when people try to use you? I've just about had it. Everyone wants to use me. [mockingly] The Underground - kill the Baron for us, Jak! Haven City - kill the Metal Heads for us, Jak! The Precursors - stop the Dark Makers for us,  Jak!

[softly] Even my friends. Samos - stop Gol and Maia. Keira - get Daddy back. Daxter - Carry me north so I can be human again. Yeah, we all know how that one turned out. Sending me across the world and throwing me all over time before I could even talk to object!

You know what? I'm through. I'm done saving the world, done being the universe's hatchet man. Someone else can save it this time. I'm in charge now, and no green-skinned old hippy, no pretty-girl mechanic, no tattooed bitch, and especially no bunch of furry little rats is going to tell me what to do

[He pounds on the arm of the throne and the feed cuts out.]

((OOC: Aaand because Jak was a late entry I don't have any yellow-eyes icons for him, so plz to be pretending.))

[Locked from Rose's journal]
I need a worldhop to Ulara, in Rose's world.  Apparently she's gone and her dragon insists he's hungry.

I really hope nothing's happened to her, but Rose has never seemed she'd forget to feed him if she was going to be away for a while...  I may have to stay until she gets back.  Or until I can figure out what happened to her.  So Dax, I'll need you to cover for me.
21 November 2008 @ 06:03 pm
Looks like the virus hit me, too. I look about five. And that's not the worst part.

I can't talk. I mean not at all. I never could, until a couple years ago. Nobody ever figured out why, I don't think...

I need a worldhop to Rose's world, please. I can work out some way to pay you, I'm sure. I'm in Haven City, near the Naughty Ottsel - it's a bar.
