[voice]

[shinji breathes into the microphone, static erupting through the speakers in short bursts.  he sounds as if he's been pushed past the verge of tears and onto the brink of absolute panic, but he has to do this.  he has to.]

Kaworu-kun...he's gone.  It was strange that he was gone so early this morning, but I didn't think about it.  Now it's been hours and he's not back.  I called his job and his phone.  They haven't seen him and he won't answer.  All his things are here.  Even his violin is here.  He'd never leave without it.  I can't find him.  He disappeared.  Kaworu left.

[an audible gulp, a shaky sigh.] And I can't find him at all.  Tell me you've heard from him.

Please.

[Since this is video there's no reason to take his time trying to think of an artful way to handle this. After a nasal huff, scratching the back of his head and glancing away from the camera awkwardly he sits forcibly forward, hands on his knees, posture straight and gives a nod, since he can't exactly reach out and clap him on the shoulder.]

These kind of things. They happen. So, you know. [His mouth presses into a tighter line, slanting as his gaze starts to drift, then focuses again with another nod.] Cheer up.

[With that out of the way he's quick to add, going from halting to verbal diarrhea.] Not right now. You can be down right now. But there's a limit to how long even a kid can be... well, don't worry about that for now, but. You know. Be ready to feel better. Get it all out now. Then perk up. So. Yeah.
