I see. I wonder where they learned their craft. Or, if it has been forgotten in this time?

I highly doubt it. I don't claim to know much of anything about the Association, but I would assume it's alive and well even now. Magi are incredibly secretive, you see--even if there were several in this very city they would surely not make themselves known.

How odd. I'm sure much could be accomplished if they shared their knowledge. They might be able to heal wounds that modern medicine is unable to help.

Yes, well...I find in my experience, magi are self-centered and egotistical. They think themselves higher than ordinary humans. There are exceptions, of course...and perhaps my view is limited, yet all the same that would be my perspective on the matter.

I suppose if you have power apart from everyone else, that would place you in an isolated position. Perhaps they must keep to themselves because they were afraid to trouble others, and that has grown into a distance apparent in their manner. Of this world, I don't believe I have met one to draw any such answer.

In your time, did you find them that way, too? Or, only from your recent experience?

Magic and those who used it were a bit different back then--simpler, as were most things. There was an abundance of that which most in this era would call 'supernatural', so it was practically accepted as the standard.

A time of legend for us now, it seems. [Kasumi hums softly.] We've certainly gained much over the years, haven't we? Though, I wonder at what cost.
